NY State Mandated Policy for Tardiness

The new policy for attendance in school was implemented by New York State.  At the beginning of the school year St. Mary's was following the old mandated policy.  However, from 1 Feb. 2004 we will follow the NYS Policy.

School begins at 8:30 AM. Therefore, if a child is entering the classroom after 8:30 AM, he/she will be considered tardy.  The procedure for tardiness is that the student come to the office to get a late slip to give to their teacher.  Every time your child is tardy a notes is required by law to be kept on file.  If this is not received in a timely manner then you will receive a reminder from the office that a note is outstanding.
